This could turn out to be hilarious, romantic or very dangerous

Every year, Alternative Miss Ireland produces a “full colour, beautifully designed, collectable commemorative Calendar for the year ahead…. This year, AMI is selling off every single day in the 13-Month AMI Calendar, 18 March 2011 – 31 March 2012.

IT GOT BETTER?

At the weekend, a video by a young kid called Jonah who was struggling with being bullied at school went viral. Even Lady Gaga was tweeting about it. Well, another video has surfaced of a much happier kid* explaining that the first video was made 4 months ago and that he is now in a much better place. He brags that “Everyone at school likes me now” while a spooky-eyed girl-friend nods her encouragement. He also mocks the commentators that called him “gay”, saying that it was pretty obvious. Strangely, the idea that he might be in a more confident (if not even cocky) place has sent some people crazy with indignation. Admittedly, he might not have expressed himself as poetically as he did when he tearfully held cards up to the camera revealing his pain but I can’t help thinking how ironic it is that people are hating on him because he seems not to be suicidal anymore.

It seems that the Internet only likes gay kids when they are vulnerable and suicidal.

Ireland’s rugby team for the gays*, the Emerald Warriors have kicked off their annual fundraising drive to keep them in oddly shaped balls and gear**.
