The scores please… WEEK ONE of The Drag Academy Cup climaxed at Bingo in The George on Sunday. The two Houses (Wardrobe Malfunction and No Fixed Abode) took to the stage to earn points and had the theme LOVE to guide them. Their performances were evaluated by the regular mentors and some of the audience, which included TV3′s Family Fortunes presenter Alan Hughes, Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh and some girl whom I renamed Mundy. Points were awarded (and deducted) using the criteria Originality, Presentation and Performance.

ACADEMY CUP KICKS OFF

This Sunday (8 January 2011), the under-draguates™ from Drag Academy will begin battling out in The Academy Cup. The idea is that they demonstrate the various skills they have developed over the past months, mainly the skill of taking out all your rage on another drag queen. The competition off-stage is going to be fierce. Here’s hoping there’s not too much bloodshed. To stop it getting too vicious, the under-draguates™ have been split into two Houses, which will compete against each other for points. It’s kinda like the Jets and the Sharks in West Side Story but with mascara and wigs instead of flick-knives and the Jerome Robbins choreography. (What do you mean you’ve never seen West Side Story?!)
