Applications are now being accepted for enrolment into Shirley Temple Bar’s Drag Academy. Part “Drag Queen Finishing School”, part screwball team competition, Shirley Temple Bar’s Drag Academy is like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
Successful applicants will become students at Shirley Temple Bar’s Drag Academy where they will undertake a variety of projects to help them explore style, form and movement. They will develop their skills in performance, costume and make-up, with help from course tutors. The syllabus will include creating videos, photographs and group performances and students will regularly perform for a live audience.
Students will also be assigned to Houses, which will compete against each other to win the ACADEMY CUP and win wigs, make-up, clothes and shoes as well as the opportunity to take part in some very special shows and feature in Shirley Temple Bar’s Drag Academy YEAR BOOK.
Points will be awarded to Houses over the semester based on students’ individual and group results. Students failing to reach an acceptable level may be expelled. The House with the most points will win the Academy Cup. Individual prizes will also be awarded.
